While you don’t have to use oil in your bath bombs, at Enfusia we’ve chosen to use olive oil in all our handmade bath bombs. A lot of people ask us why? Olive oil is expensive and is known around the world for its rich flavor and health benefits, but did you know olive oil is superb for sensitive skin and even eczema-prone skin?

Historically speaking, olive trees have been grown around the Mediterranean since the 8th millennium BC. The oil is made from pressing whole olives. While most people think of Italy as the home of olive oil, Spain is actually the world’s largest producer. Olive oil has amazing beneficial properties.

One cool thing about olive oil is that it contains antioxidants that fight free-radical damage and an ingredient called squalene, which is extremely hydrating. Squalene is used in high-end skincare products all over the world.

We decided to use olive oil in our handmade bath bombs as an added skin moisturizer. A lot of companies choose not to add any type of oil to their bath bombs because it is an expensive addition and can make the bath bomb sink due to the added weight.

We have taken just the opposite approach. We know its full of antioxidants and wonderful lipids that benefit the skin greatly. Added moisture isn’t a bad thing as far as we are concerned. The Enfusia customer knows and appreciates this added ingredient simply due to the great reputation olive oil has. Plus, since olive oil is a food ingredient it was a natural fit for us.
